This calendar features watercolor illustrations of Oregon’s native flowers. Each page highlights a unique selection of flowers found across Oregon and the West Coast.
This project was a collaborative effort, with Shoka as the artist and her daughter as the digital editor. Shoka created this artwork using the one-stroke method with Japanese watercolors called Gansai. This technique closely resembles Sumi-e, blending simplicity with elegance. Impressively, all 300 calendars sold out within just three months!
She also creates greeting cards in many different styles. Her cards are available at local artisan stores, Portland airport, nursery, gardens, as well as online store.
