New Year Event at Portland Japanese Garden

Shoka was honored to host a segment of the O-Shogatsu Festival, Japanese New Year celebration at the Portland Japanese Garden. She introduced the art of Sumi-e brushwork, showcasing the 2025 zodiac animal, the snake, to over 300~400 participants. Guests had the opportunity to learn and experience this traditional Japanese art form, creating meaningful and beautiful pieces to mark the Year of the Snake. She plans to host a Sumi-e event for the Year of the House in 2026.
