Japanese traditional calligraphy

Year:

2015

These pieces were created during Shoka’s journey in the Calligraphy Instructor Certificate Program at Tokyo Bunka Shodo in Tokyo, Japan, from 2014 to 2016. Each artwork is crafted using traditional sumi ink on hanshi paper, measuring 56 inches by 14 inches. Elegantly framed with exquisite kimono fabric, they reflect the profound connection between Japanese art and culture. Both pieces feature Gyosho style writing, celebrated for its semi-cursive grace and flowing beauty.

Held on: 1st Wednesday

Duration: 10am- 12pm

Location: 207 Ash St. Lake Oswego, OR 97034

The Two-Hour Shodo session for beginners is a flexible and relaxed group, allowing you to explore basics of Shodo.

While instruction will be light, I can offer more hands-on guidance compared to the one-hour Sunday salon experience. For those who are more serious about exploring shodo calligraphy, I highly recommend combining the group session with private lessons.
